Heading North

We left Turtle Bay and as I like to do went on the lee side of Cedros Island. It is what I call a free day. Anne had a lot of fun sailing the boat. We had great winds from a good direction and had the boat sailing fast all day. Anne had the boat doing 8.5 kts with 10kts of wind. The most wind we saw was 30 apparent which is what turned us around and we went back to the anchorage at Cedros. What a nice place, seals, dolphins, pelicans, a great place to stop and rest. The boat was doing 9kts with the staysail and two reefs, should have put in three but didn't think the winds would be that high. Expecting a weather change that didn't come till later last night.
It's now 4 A.M. and we are leaving with flat water and expecting some wind out of the east.
Sailing with our new friends that we met in Los Cabos. Scintilla is a CT 49, they motor a knot and a half fast than us but we seem to be able to catch them when ever the wind comes up and we start sailing. Another boat has been with us but they seem a lot slower, I think we might not see them after today till we get to Ensenada.
